― 遍路道に寄り添う家 ―

この住まいは、四国八十八ヶ所霊場の遍路道沿いに建つ。
長い年月をかけて人々が歩んできた道の記憶に、静かに呼応するように計画した。

建物正面には木格子を設け、通りとの距離感をやわらげながら、光と風を穏やかに取り込む構成としている。格子越しに移ろう気配が、遍路道と住まいを緩やかにつなげている。

敷地には祖父母の住まいが隣接しており、孫世帯が新たに暮らす二世帯に近い関係性を持つ住宅でもある。互いの気配を感じながらも、適度な距離感を保てるよう、開口部の位置や大きさには慎重に配慮した。

釣りを趣味とする施主と、敷地に連なる畑での暮らしを背景に、建物の一部を半屋外空間とし、大きなステンレス流しを設置した。魚や野菜を気兼ねなく洗える、外部と生活が連続する場所となっている。

内部は、将来的に1階のみで生活が完結できる構成とし、サニタリールームには大きなファミリークローゼットを併設することで、洗濯から収納までの動線を短縮した。さらに玄関からパントリー、キッチンへ直接つながる家事動線を設け、1階全体を回遊できる計画としている。

遍路道という歴史ある風景に寄り添いながら、家族の距離感や日々の営みを丁寧に受け止める住まいを目指した。

— A House Along the Pilgrimage Route —

This house stands quietly along the pilgrimage route of the Shikoku 88-temple trail.
It was designed to gently resonate with the path that countless people have walked over many years.

A wooden lattice wraps the front façade, softening the relationship between the house and the street while allowing light and wind to pass through gently. Through the layered screen, the atmosphere of the pilgrimage road subtly connects with daily life inside.

The site also contains the grandparents’ home, where the younger family now lives nearby.
The house was carefully planned to maintain a comfortable balance of closeness and privacy, with particular attention paid to the placement and size of openings.

Because the owner enjoys fishing and the family also grows vegetables in the adjacent garden, part of the building was designed as a semi-outdoor space with a large stainless-steel sink. It serves as a practical place where fish, tools, and harvested vegetables can be washed freely, extending everyday activities toward the outdoors.

The interior was planned so that life can eventually be completed entirely on the first floor. A large family closet is connected directly to the sanitary room, simplifying the flow of laundry and storage. In addition, a secondary circulation route links the entrance to the pantry and kitchen, creating a looped plan that allows smooth movement throughout the first floor.

While responding to the historic landscape of the pilgrimage route, the house seeks to carefully embrace family relationships, everyday routines, and the quiet richness of ordinary life.
