三宝山の美しい稜線を映し取るように、ゆるやかに伸びる大屋根が特徴の平屋の住まいです。

この土地では、隣接する畑に光が届くよう、建物を平屋とすることが求められていました。

その条件を制約として捉えるのではなく、周囲の風景やゆったりとした敷地の広がりを活かすための手がかりとし、大らかで伸びやかな住まいを目指しました。

屋根は、山並みや空の広がりと自然につながるように計画し、建物が風景の中に穏やかに佇むことを意識しています。

外壁には焼杉を用い、黒く深みのある外観が、庭の緑や空の広がりを引き立てています。

住まいの中心には、性格の異なる2つの中庭を設けました。ひとつは、リビングや寝室、渡り廊下から静かに眺める観賞のための庭。

もうひとつは、BBQテラスを内包した、家族や友人と過ごすためのアクティブな中庭です。

外に閉じながら内に開く構成により、プライバシーを確保しながらも、日常の中で自然を身近に感じられる住まいとなっています。

リビング・ダイニングは、約10m×5.5mの無柱空間として計画しました。

大きな木の屋根に包まれるような伸びやかな空間の中で、大谷石の間仕切りがリビングとダイニングを緩やかに分節し、空間に落ち着きと奥行きを与えています。

また、リビングからはガラス越しにガレージの愛車を眺めることができます。

約9m×7.3mのゆとりあるガレージは、単なる駐車スペースではなく、暮らしの中に愛車の存在を取り込むための場所として計画しました。

外からは静かに、内側では豊かに過ごせる、奥行きのある住まいを目指しました。

Yamont House is a single-story residence defined by a gently extending large roof, as if reflecting the beautiful ridgeline of Mt. Sanpo.

For this site, the house was required to be single-story so that sunlight could continue to reach the neighboring farmland. Rather than treating this condition as a limitation, we saw it as a starting point for a design that embraces the surrounding landscape and the generous scale of the site.

The roof was designed to connect naturally with the surrounding mountains and open sky, allowing the house to sit quietly within the landscape. The exterior is clad in charred cedar, whose deep black texture enhances the greenery of the gardens and the openness of the sky.

At the heart of the house are two courtyards with different roles. One is a contemplative garden, viewed quietly from the living room, bedroom, and connecting corridor. The other is an active courtyard that includes a BBQ terrace, creating a place for family and friends to gather. By closing the house toward the outside while opening it inward, the design ensures privacy while allowing nature to be felt throughout daily life.

The living and dining area is planned as a column-free space measuring approximately 10m by 5.5m. Beneath the expansive timber roof, an Oya stone partition gently separates the living and dining areas, bringing a sense of calm and depth to the interior.

From the living room, the owner’s car can be viewed through the glass of the garage. The spacious garage, approximately 9m by 7.3m, was designed not simply as a place to park, but as a space that brings the presence of the car into everyday life.

With inward-facing gardens and a garage that becomes part of the living experience, the house is quiet from the outside yet rich and layered within. It is a residence designed to offer depth, openness, and a sense of ease in daily life.
